This 1967 novel has stood the test of time resonating with teens and adults of all ages. A story about friendship and self-belonging in which the main character, 15 year old Ponyboy, lives with his two older brothers, Darry and Sodapop, and spends most of his time with his fellow "gang" members. Ponyboy and his brothers count on each other for everything especially when it comes to the rival social class the socs. But one night someone gets hurt and everything changes...
I extremely liked this book for a few reasons. For one, it was written a long time ago but still manages to hook contemporary readers. Another reason is that it was very exciting and had action but was also very deep and posed lots of interesting questions.
